What we do

Eight advisory services covering operations, quality and training.

Each service is practical and advisory, and each can stand alone or work alongside the others. This page describes the support we offer; it does not promise outcomes.

Service areas

Three areas of work, eight services.

Institutional Operations

Support for how a hospital or nursing college is organised and run from day to day.

Quality & Accreditation

Structured ways to find gaps, act on them and prepare for independent assessment.

Capability Building

Tools, training and coordination that help teams sustain good practice over time.

Institutional Operations

Operations & Management of Nursing College

Clearer operations behind a nursing education institution.

Running a nursing college means balancing academic administration, clinical placements, staffing, documentation and regulatory expectations all at once. Sonalyam supports promoters and managements who want that work organised more deliberately.

Before any scope is proposed, we first understand how the college runs today: who is responsible for what, which records exist, and where time and effort are being lost. Support is then shaped around what the institution actually needs.

Support may include

  • Reviewing how administration, academics and clinical training are currently organised
  • Structuring roles, responsibilities and reporting lines
  • Organising records, registers and documentation so they are ready for review
  • Supporting coordination between the college, its clinical training sites and relevant authorities
  • Planning day-to-day processes and resources together with management

May suit

Promoters and managements of nursing colleges, and hospitals that run an attached nursing institution.

Worth knowing

Whether support is advisory, hands-on operational help or a combination is discussed and agreed at the outset.

Quality Audits and Gap Identification: illustrative image

Quality & Accreditation

Quality Audits and Gap Identification

An honest, evidence-based view of where practice stands.

A quality audit compares what an institution does in practice with what its own procedures, and recognised healthcare quality expectations, call for. The purpose is a clear picture of the current position, not a verdict.

Sonalyam’s audit support is observation-based: reviewing documentation, speaking with the people who do the work, and recording findings objectively so leadership can see which areas need attention first.

Support may include

  • Reviewing policies, SOPs, registers and records
  • Department-wise walkthroughs and conversations with staff
  • Recording gaps against the standards or checklists agreed for the audit
  • A written summary of findings that separates urgent items from routine ones
  • Discussing findings with leadership before any action is planned

May suit

Hospital leadership and quality teams who want an independent view, whether ahead of an accreditation journey or as part of routine quality review.

Corrective & Preventive Action Planning: illustrative image

Quality & Accreditation

Corrective & Preventive Action Planning

From findings to actions that someone owns.

Identifying a gap is only the first step. Corrective actions deal with what has gone wrong; preventive actions reduce the chance of it happening again. Without clear ownership and follow-up, both tend to stall.

We help teams turn findings into action plans that are realistic for the institution: what will change, who is responsible, by when, and how progress will be checked.

Support may include

  • Grouping findings and looking for common underlying causes
  • Separating corrective actions from preventive ones
  • Agreeing owners and realistic timelines with management
  • Designing simple tracking formats that teams will actually keep up
  • Reviewing progress and closing actions with supporting evidence

May suit

Institutions that already have audit findings, internal or external, and need a structured way to act on them.

Training & Development of Quality Kits: illustrative image

Capability Building

Training & Development of Quality Kits

Quality practice holds when the people doing it feel confident.

Checklists and procedures improve care only when staff understand why they exist and how to use them in the middle of a busy shift. Training is where written quality systems turn into everyday habits.

Sonalyam supports the training and capability-building side of quality work, with sessions and materials built around the institution’s own processes and the quality resources it has adopted, such as checklists, formats and reference material.

Support may include

  • Orientation sessions on quality processes and documentation practice
  • Role-specific training for clinical, nursing and administrative staff
  • Practice sessions on using checklists, registers and formats correctly
  • Supporting in-house trainers or quality coordinators
  • Short refreshers when processes change

May suit

Hospitals and nursing colleges that want teams, not just documents, to carry quality practice forward.

Worth knowing

Format, duration and audience for training are agreed individually.

Inter Organisational Liaisoning: illustrative image

Capability Building

Inter Organisational Liaisoning

A steadier line of communication with the organisations you depend on.

Hospitals and nursing colleges regularly deal with external organisations: regulators, accrediting and affiliating bodies, training partners, vendors and other institutions. Keeping those exchanges organised takes time that leadership often does not have.

Sonalyam provides coordination support: helping to prepare documents, keep track of requirements and follow-ups, and communicate clearly and professionally where the institution has asked us to.

Support may include

  • Identifying which external bodies and processes are relevant to a particular requirement
  • Preparing and organising documents for submission or discussion
  • Tracking deadlines, queries and follow-ups
  • Keeping a clear record of communication
  • Coordinating schedules between the institution and external parties

May suit

Institutions whose leadership wants dependable coordination with external parties without adding administrative load.

Worth knowing

Liaison support is coordination and administrative help; decisions always rest with the external organisation concerned.

Development of Quality Tool Kits: illustrative image

Capability Building

Development of Quality Tool Kits

Practical tools your teams can pick up and use.

A quality tool kit is the set of everyday instruments that make good practice repeatable: checklists, audit formats, registers, templates and short reference guides.

We help institutions develop tool kits around their own departments and processes, so staff are not left to improvise and there is consistent evidence of what has been done.

Support may include

  • Identifying which processes most need a simple, consistent tool
  • Drafting checklists, audit formats, registers and templates
  • Aligning tools with the institution’s existing SOPs and terminology
  • Trying tools with the people who will use them and refining them
  • Organising tools so they are easy to find, update and review

May suit

Quality coordinators and department heads who need practical, ready-to-use formats rather than theory.

Worth knowing

Tool kits are developed around each institution’s own processes rather than supplied as a fixed, ready-made package.

NABH & NABL Accreditation: illustrative image

Quality & Accreditation

NABH & NABL Accreditation

Preparing thoughtfully for independent assessment.

NABH (for hospitals and healthcare organisations) and NABL (for testing and calibration laboratories) are independent bodies. They set the standards and make accreditation decisions. Sonalyam does not grant, approve or guarantee accreditation.

What we offer is advisory support: helping an institution understand the standards that apply to it, review its current practice, close documentation and process gaps, and feel prepared for formal assessment.

Support may include

  • Explaining the applicable standards and what they ask of each department
  • Readiness review of current practice against the relevant standards or checklists
  • Support with documentation, SOPs and records
  • Training staff on the requirements that affect their work
  • Mock walk-throughs to surface remaining gaps before formal assessment

May suit

Hospitals and laboratories that are considering, or already working toward, NABH or NABL accreditation.

Worth knowing

Accreditation decisions are made solely by the relevant accrediting body. No outcome is guaranteed.

Outsourced Hospital Services: illustrative image

Institutional Operations

Outsourced Hospital Services

Keeping outsourced functions aligned with your standards.

Many hospitals rely on outside providers for functions that sit alongside clinical care. Even when a function is outsourced, the hospital remains accountable for how it affects patients and staff.

Sonalyam’s support in this area is intended to help institutions define what they need from outsourced arrangements, coordinate with providers and keep an eye on quality. The specific functions covered are discussed with each institution.

Support may include

  • Clarifying which functions suit outsourcing and what the hospital expects from them
  • Setting out service expectations and quality measures in writing
  • Coordinating with service providers during set-up and day-to-day running
  • Reviewing performance against what was agreed
  • Linking outsourced functions into the hospital’s wider quality system

May suit

Hospital promoters and administrators who rely on, or are considering, outsourced service providers.

Worth knowing

The exact functions covered are confirmed in discussion before any scope is agreed.

Working together

Services often work best in combination.

These are examples of how services can be combined, not packages or promised outcomes. The right mix is agreed with each institution.
